Ballet (18mo +)

.jpeg)
Ballet is an art form built on discipline and artistry. Stemming from fencing in the 1600s, the self named "Sun King" of France wanted a court dance that he could use to show himself off. It found it's way to Italy and Russia where enhanced curriculums were formed. Today, ballet has become a respected form of emotion, technique and athleticism. We offer ballet from Mommy&Me for toddlers, to beginning adults and teens, to future ballerinas exploring pointe-work.
Modern (9yrs +)

Modern was developed first by Isadora Duncan who spearheaded the breakaway from ballet in favor of bare feet, free-form movement, and flowing costumes. The biggest name in the modern scene today would be Martha Graham who brought the "contract and release" technique in the 1900s now familiar to most dancers in most styles! We currently offer one modern class a week, but echos of the art form are found in most classes.
Jazz (9yrs +)

Jazz originated some time in the late 1800s and early 1900s, rooted in African American culture. The style eventually incorporated European influences and found it's way to stages like Broadway.Today, jazz in characterized by syncopated, sharp movement and upbeat music. We offer one jazz class currently, but utilize a curriculum for a wide level range.
Musical Theater (7+)

Musical Theater shocked the world first in the late 1800s with a new and strange mix of acting, song, and dance. Since then the art has exploded into the industry we all know and love, producing musicals such as Les Miserable, Hamilton, and Singing in the Rain. Our students get to experience that fun of complete performance by incorporating the style of dance used in these shows into their training.
Contemporary (11+)

Contemporary came about in the mid-20th century as a rebellion against the more technical styles of Ballet and early Modern. It blends experimental movement with emotional expression that stretches every dancer's range and skill set. Today, contemporary is one of the most popular styles of dance, loved for its diversity in movement and storytelling superiority.
